Eaton heats up the converged infrastructure debate at SpiceWorld London 2013

Eaton plans to give IT professionals some food for thought during its break out session at SpiceWorld London 2013 by alerting them to the dangers of assuming power protection and management are optional in today’s converged and virtualised infrastructures.

Eaton will also be offering visitors to SpiceWorld, which takes place on 16th – 17th May 2013 at Vinopolis in London, a first look at its new high efficiency, line interactive UPS (due to be launched next month) and the chance to win one of the units with an old school style Rubik’s Cube Challenge.

The break out session, entitled 'Real Power Management for the Virtualised World', will be presented by Eaton’s software & connectivity manager, Tatu Valjakka, at 14:45 on the first day of SpiceWorld London. Tatu will address the common, yet mistaken, assumption that if the software layers of an IT system can handle equipment failures in the physical layer, power protection and power management become optional and reveal why, in reality, power protection and management are as essential as ever.

Eaton’s IT-Talk Table at SpiceWorld will complement Tatu’s seminar by demonstrating the company’s newest line interactive UPS which supports entry level virtualisation strategies through seamless integration with Eaton’s Intelligent Power software and is ideally suited for powering servers, switches, routers and storage devices in network closets and small data centre environments up to 1,550VA. Visitors to the stand will also be invited to take part in Eaton’s Rubik’s Cube challenge which will see those with the fastest fingers win a rack mounted or tower version of the new UPS units.

Throughout the two day event, experts from Eaton will also be on hand to provide visitors with advice and guidance on selecting solutions for specific applications, with the emphasis on combining energy efficiency with versatility, durability and value for money.

Originally from Texas, SpiceWorld has grown into one of the most talked about IT conferences for IT pros and marketers. The first London-based event took place last year. For more information and to register visit: www.spiceworks.com/spiceworld/2013/london
